I am on tour until the middle of June with PolkaDot, a new production by Myriad Dance. Polka Dot will be back on tour in the autumn.
‘Polkadot’ is a new dance work for young audiences designed by Myriad Dance. Choreographed by artistic director, Deirdre Grant, this inventive and distinctive new production ‘Polkadot’ has been predominately rehearsed at the Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford and will tour primary schools and small festivals in Co Wexford throughout April/May 2013.
‘Polkadot’ deals with the issues of conformity & how we learn and sometimes, struggle to ‘fit in’ as we grow-up in our childhood. The challenges in the face of peer pressure and social rules and how we try to maintain our distinctive voice and individuality.
Polkadot is beautifully danced by myriad dancers – Aine Stapleton , Lisa Cahill and Selma Daniel. The performance comes with an educational workshop based on the show’s themes delivered by the dancers after each performance in the school or festival environment.
‘Polkadot’ is a Making Dance Matter/ Making Dance Happen Initiative
The making of this choreography has kindly supported by Arts Department, Wexford County Council.
