I am a Dancer and Choreographer. I am sensitive, intuitive and self-motivated Dance Artist. ‘For me Dance is one way to transcend the Soul’.
Selma Daniel is an independent Dance Artist, based in Kildare, Ireland, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil and is a graduate of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, Ireland, with a Masters Degree in Arts, Contemporary Dance Performance.
As a choreographer Selma is interested in investigating new movement language; addressing social issues and interested in creating contemporary dance for young audiences. For her creative process Selma relies on her artistic sensibility and intuition.
Recent woks include ‘Absent Instincts’ screened at Light Moves International Festival of ScreenDance; ‘Inside Things’ performed at I.F.O.N.L.Y (International Festival of a Necessarily Lonely You), Dance Ireland New Movements and Imaginy Arts Festival; A-DO-LE-TA! A work in progress of a contemporary dance aimed at young audiences. This choreographic research project was supported by Fingal County Council, Dance Ireland and the Brazilian Embassy.
To date Selma has toured extensively with Brazilian companies in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.
